Lauren Yacobucci named Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON — Wright State sophomore setter Lauren Yacobucci has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, the League office announced on Monday.

Yacobucci passed out 40-plus assists in Wright State's two Horizon League road sweeps this weekend, averaging 14.33 assists per set with 86 total assists in just six sets. She passed out 42 assists in Friday's win over Youngstown State and followed that up with a 44-kill effort against the Penguins on Saturday, leading a Raider offense that finished the weekend with a .340 team hitting percentage and 16.67 kills per set average while tallying a 100-59 kill advantage over the hosts in the six sets. Her 14.33 assists per set average for the weekend was well above her season average, which now sits at 11.92 assists per set and remains the best assists per set ratio in the country.

Yacobucci added 14 digs to her 42 Friday assists to notch her fourth double-double of the season, while the 14 digs were tied for a match high. She finished the two sweeps with 23 total digs for a 3.83 digs per set average and added three blocks, three service aces and two kills to her final weekend stat line.

Wright State and Yacobucci stay on the road in Horizon League play again this week, visiting Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday. Both matches are expected to be streamed on ESPN+.
