Men’s Soccer Voted Ninth in United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA DI North Region

DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team was ranked ninth in the NCAA DI North Region by the United Soccer Coaches, as the organization updated its weekly rankings on Tuesday afternoon. Wright State is currently 5-3-2 on the season, recently defeating Purdue Fort Wayne in a 4-0 shutout, and Butler 3-2.
The Raiders sit just below fellow Horizon League member Green Bay, who currently hold a 7-3-0 overall record.
The Raiders added their first win of the season in the 2024 home opener against Lindenwood, following with a win at Saint Francis. After two weeks of road matches, WSU returned home to open Horizon League play with a 2-0 win against IU Indy. The Raiders went on to tie against Eastern Illinois and at Milwaukee. WSU stayed on the road for a midweek nonconference matchup, defeating Butler 3-2, before returning home to shutout Purdue Fort Wayne. Their three losses all came in early season road matches at Bowling Green, Loyola Chicago, and DePaul.
Wright State sits at the top of the HL alongside Robert Morris, each holding a 2-0-1 conference record with seven conference points. Below them are Purdue Fort Wayne and Green Bay with a 2-1 HL record and six points, followed by Oakland with a 1-0-2 record for five points. Northern Kentucky is 0-0-3 on the season with three points, trailed by Detroit Mercy's two points and 0-2-1 record. Milwaukee, Cleveland State, and IU Indy each have a 0-2-1 HL record.
The Raiders continue conference play on Saturday, October 5 as they host Green Bay for a 1 p.m. match. Fans can keep up with the game in-person with free admission or online through live stats.
