
Bowlers finish seventh at USBC Sectionals

ADDISON, IL – The Wright State bowling team turned in a seventh-place finish at the USBC Sectionals at Stardust Bowl in the Chicagoland area.

In addition, the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association recognized each school's collegiate scholar-athletes (with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher), with Mia Sayles, Allison Shattuck, Makenzie Gossett, Alex Drsek, Emma Hatfield and Phoenix Perry all recognized for the Raiders.

Wright State and the rest of the 23-team field bowled two more four game Baker blocks on Sunday, with the final block of the afternoon session being a position round, after a pair of four game Baker blocks on Saturday.

The Raiders were seventh after Sunday morning's four game block with 2.857 total pins in the block before tallying 3,115 pins in the afternoon block on the way to their 12,023 total. Wright State finished just four pins behind sixth-place Marian (WI) and just over 100 pins behind fifth-place Stephen F. Austin. Mount Mercy University led the way with 13,130 pins, followed by Duquesne (12,716) and St. Francis (IL) (12,178).
