Men's Soccer announces 2024 Schedule

DAYTON — The Wright State men's soccer program and head coach Alex Van der Sluijs released its 2024 schedule on Wednesday, a schedule highlighted by eight home contests at Alumni Field this fall.

The Raiders will tune up with a pair of exhibition matches ahead of the regular season, first heading to Ohio State (Aug. 10) before hosting Thomas More (Aug. 17) at Alumni Field. Wright State lifts the lid on the regular season on the road, making the trip to take on Bowling Green on August 24.

Wright State begins its home schedule on August 29 when it hosts Lindenwood before the Raiders head on the road for three straight matches at St. Francis (Sept. 1), Loyola Chicago (Sept. 5) and DePaul (Sept. 8). The Raiders will then have a stretch with four of six matches at home, welcoming IU Indianapolis (Sept. 14), Eastern Illinois (Sept. 17), Purdue Fort Wayne (Sept. 28) and Green Bay (Oct. 5) to Alumni Field, with visits to Milwaukee (Sept. 21) and Butler (Sept. 24) sandwiched in the middle.

The remainder of October will see Wright State go on the road for three of its five matches, traveling to Akron (Oct. 8), Robert Morris (Oct. 12) and Detroit Mercy (Oct. 26) and hosting Oakland (Oct. 19) and Bellarmine (Oct. 22). The Raiders host Cleveland State on November 2 before closing the regular season on November 6 at Northern Kentucky.

The Horizon League Championship will begin on November 10, featuring the No. 3 and 4 seeds as hosts. The remainder of the tournament will occur at the site of the No. 1 seed on November 14 and 16.

Last fall the Raiders went 4-9-5 and advanced to the Horizon League quarterfinals, while Wright State tallied a 3-4-2 mark in Horizon League action. Henry Hutchinson was named to the Horizon League's All-Freshman Team for his play.

- Loyola Chicago finished 8-2-5 overall last season with a 4-1-3 mark in A-10 play, tallying a 4-2-2 mark at home. Wright State has faced its former Horizon League foe 22 times, with a 10-10-2 all-time series record, but this will be the first meeting since 2012.
