Horizon League Announces #HLMSOC Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The Wright State men's soccer program was picked ninth in the 2024 Under Armour Horizon league preseason poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders collected 38 points in the poll, which the league's head coaches voted on.

Oakland, the 2023 regular season champion, was voted the top finisher with 75 points and three first place votes. Cleveland State followed with 73 points and one first place vote. Green Bay, the defending conference champion, and IU Indianapolis are tied for third with 71 points. Green Bay collected three first place votes and IU Indianapolis one.

In fifth was Purdue Fort Wayne with 66 points. Behind them was Detroit Mercy (49), RMU (43), and Milwaukee (41). Northern Kentucky was projected to finish tenth with 23 points.

Last fall the Raiders went 4-9-5 and advanced to the Horizon League quarterfinals, while Wright State tallied a 3-4-2 mark in Horizon League action. Henry Hutchinson was named to the Horizon League's All-Freshman Team for his play.

Wright State will open the 2024 season in a road match at Bowling Green on Friday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. Fans can keep up with the action on the BG YouTube livestream or through live stats. The Raiders will be back on Alumni Field Thursday, August 29, hosting Lindenwood for their 2024 home opener.
