DAYTON/CONWAY, SC – The Wright State men's basketball team already had its calendars marked for the 2024 Myrtle Beach Invitational in late November, but the Raiders now know their opening round opponent will be Princeton as the tournament bracket was announced by event organizers on Thursday afternoon.
Wright State and Princeton will meet in the fourth and final opening round game, scheduled for an 8 p.m. tipoff on ESPN+, on Thursday, November 21 inside the HTC Center on the Coastal Carolina campus. Other first round games include Ohio-Middle Tennessee (12 p.m.), South Florida-Portland (2:30 p.m.) and Bradley-Texas State (5:30 p.m.). The Raiders will matchup against either Bradley or Texas State in semifinal action on Friday, November 21 at either 5 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. All games of the sixth annual event will be available across the ESPN platforms.
Wright State will face Princeton for the first time in program history in the opening round contest, while the Raiders have also never faced Portland or Texas State before. Wright State and Middle Tennessee faced each other twice, on each other's home courts, during the 1988-89 season, while the Raiders and Bradley met back-to-back seasons in December 2006 and December 2007.
