CHICAGO, Illinois – The Wright State men's soccer team fell short to DePaul 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The lone goal came from Conner Osterholt, recording his second consecutive scoring game this season. The Raiders will play again on Saturday, September 14 at 3 p.m. as they host IU Indy for the first week of Horizon League play.

Wright State (2-3-0) was bested by DePaul (2-2-1) in shots, 14-6, shots on goal, 4-2, saves, 1-0, and corner kicks, 9-1. The Raiders' two shots on goal came from Felix Ezekwuka and Osterholt.

Midfielder Brock Pickett and goalkeeper Alessandro Malterer were the only Raiders to log all 90 minutes of play. They were closely trailed by Uleto Fuentes and Osterholt, both recording 87 minutes. Zakaria Amro and Jack Jenkins each saw 82 minutes of action, followed by Cole Werthmuller's 78 minutes.

The Raiders came in hot, as Edwin Espinal-Elvir recorded a shot in just the fourth minute. Ezekwuka followed, putting a shot on goal in the 26th minute. Osterholt found the back on the net in the 31st minute, scoring on a pass from Marko Odorcic. The last Raider shot of the first half came from Jonah Williams in the final minute. Though the Blue Demons tallied five shots in the first, none were on target, giving Wright State a 1-0 advantage at the half.

DePaul put up skillful offense in the second half, first tying the score in the 53rd minute, then taking the lead in the 66th. The Blue Demons further secured their victory, scoring in the 83rd and 86th minutes, ending the day 4-1. The Raiders added two shots in the second half, first from Henry Hutchinson in the 66th minute, then from freshman Midfielder Brayden Tester in the 87th, just six minutes after he first saw the pitch.
