Ayro’s 22 kills leads Raiders to Friday road win

GREEN BAY— The Wright State volleyball team dropped the opening set on Friday night before rolling off the next three sets for a road victory at Green Bay in Horizon League action behind Mya Ayro's match-best 22 kills.
Wright State (14-7, 8-2 Horizon) now moves into second-place alone in the Horizon League standings, one game back of Northern Kentucky, who also won on Friday, and one game ahead of Green Bay (8-13, 7-3 Horizon). Wright State and Green Bay meet again on Saturday afternoon in a 1 p.m. start.

On Friday, the Raiders bounced back from a 0.026 first set team hitting percentage to finish the night with a .224 overall hitting percentage, recording just 15 combined errors over sets two through four after committing 11 in the opening set. Green Bay finished the loss hitting .166 as a group with 19 total errors.
Behind Ayro's leading 22 kills, Reilly Zegunis turned in a complete stat line with 10 kills, five digs, two service aces and a block. Elena Dubuc recorded nine kills and added a late block, while Taylor Bransfield added eight kills of her own to go along with a match-best five blocks. Lauren Yacobucci passed out 45 of the Raiders' 53 assists, while a trio of players all notched double-digit digs, led by Taygan Corstange's match-high 22 digs, followed by Greta McKee (15) and Audrey Hudson (13).
Katie Schulz finished with 11 kills as the only Green Bay player with double-digit kills, while Emma Johnson passed out 37 assists and both Emma Best (17) and Kayla Birmingham (10) had double-digit digs in the loss for the hosts.
