Raiders Fall to Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, OH- The Wright State men's soccer team fell 1-2 on the road at Cleveland State on Saturday night.

Wright State (1-8-1, 1-3) will kick off a three-game homestand on Tuesday, October 7, as in-state rival Xavier comes to Alumni Field. First touch against Xavier is slated for 7 p.m. The homestand will also include matches against Northern Kentucky on October 11 and Milwaukee on October 18.

The Raiders opened the scoring in the 32nd minute from a set piece about 25 yards out. Marko Odorcic sent a free kick into the box that was flicked on by Ishamel Mensah to Oneil Michell, who finished the opportunity. The goal is Mitchell's second in as many games after scoring the winner last Saturday against Detroit Mercy.

The Viking would take control in the second half, scoring the equalizer in the 51st minute and the winner in the 81st minute. The equalizer was scored from the penalty spot with Jacob Deever converting the chance. The winner came off the foot of Peleg Armendariz.

In the box score, Wright State led in shots (10-7) and corner kick opportunities (4-2), but trailed in shots on goal (2-5). Four Raiders played all 90 minutes, including Aleesando Malterer, Oskar Greven, Roman Kedgley, and Mitchell. Malterer recorded three saves between the posts for WSU.
