BELLEVILLE, IL – The No. 15 Wright State bowling team tallied a tournament-best five wins on the opening day of the Bearcat Classic on Friday, going 5-0 in the first day of action to sit in fifth in the 15-team field.

Wright State finished with an opening day pinfall total of 4,854, the fifth-highest total behind Sacred Heart (3-2 - 5,059 pins), Maryville (4-1 - 4,952 pins), Valparaiso (3-2 - 4,882 pins) and tournament host McKendree (3-1 - 4,877 pins).
Saturday morning gets underway with traditional team matches beginning at 10:25 a.m. ET. Action closes on Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m. ET with best-of-seven baker matches in bracket play.
Teams bowled five head-to-head Baker matches on Friday, with the Raiders grabbing wins over Marian (WI) (956-876), Jackson State (903-895), Central Missouri (938-904), McKendree (999-936) and Oklahoma Christian (1,058-940).
