Henson’s Double-Double Not Enough as Raiders Fall to Ohio

ATHENS, OH- The Wright State women's basketball team fell to the Ohio Bobcats on the road Monday, 66-80.
Wright State (4-3) will travel to Boca Raton to participate in the Thanksgiving Classic, taking on host Florida Atlantic on November 28 and Air Force on November 29. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 1 p.m.
Claire Henson was stellar for the Raiders on Monday night, recording her second double-double of the season with a season-high 17 points and career-high 15 rebounds. Henson got it done on the defensive side of the ball as well with one steal and one block.
The Raiders started hot in the first quarter, hitting four three-pointers and leading 19-16 after the first 10 minutes. But Ohio would take over in the second quarter, outscoring the Raiders 27-6 to jump out to an 18-point halftime lead. Wright State struggled offensively, hitting just two jump shots in the quarter.
Wright State outscored Ohio in the second half, cutting the lead down to 10 at multiple points, but was unable to cut into the lead anymore. Rylee Sagester was on fire in the second half, shooting 67% from the floor and 60% from three, scoring 14 of her team-high 18 points in the final 20 minutes.
In the box score, Ohio led Wright State in second-chance points (17-9), bench points (25-18), and points in the paint (30-16). The Bobcats also won the rebounding battle 43-39.
Makenzie Drout made her season debut for the Raiders in the second half.
