DAYTON- The Wright State women's soccer team (1-3) came up just short against Marshall on Wednesday night at Alumni Field falling 1-2.

The Raiders and Thundering Herd engaged in a physical battle that saw a total of 17 fouls and three yellow cards.

Marshall would grab the lead in the 36
th minute when Fernanda Dantas placed a corner kick in the box that found of the head of Kajsa Ekstrom and then the back of the net. The Herd wouldn't take long to double their lead with Laura Rodriguez scoring just five minutes after the first goal.

Marshall would hold a 2-0 lead going into the halftime break. The Herd led in shots (7-4) and corner kick opportunities (5-3) in the first 45 minutes.

The Raiders would get on the scoreboard in the 53
rd minute when
Alea Cook laid the ball off to
Ruby Dunlevy who buried the ball into the back of the net for her second goal of the season.

Dunlevy led Wright State in the box score with three shots, two of which were on goal, and scoring the Raiders lone goal.
Kiera Sarka and
Leigha Lauer split time in goal, each recording three saves.
