Raiders Tripped Up by Green Bay Thursday Evening

GREEN BAY- The Wright women's basketball team fell 52-66 on the road at Green Bay Thursday evening.
Wright State (6-16, 2-9 HL) will continue its road trip through America's Dairyland at Milwaukee on January 31. Tip-off at the Klotsche Center is slated for 3 p.m.
Grace Okih led the Raiders Thursday night with 12 points, knocking down a pair of shots and a season-high eight free throws on a season-best 10 attempts. Ellie Magestro-Kennedy joined Okih in double figures with 10 points of her own, turning in her fifth 10+ point performance in six games. Okih snagged six rebounds to lead the Raiders for her fourth consecutive game with at least six rebounds and sixth on the season.
Wright State jumped out to an early 5-4 lead in the first quarter, thanks to a pair of buckets by Rylee Sagester, and the Raiders would expand that lead to 7-4 after an Okih layup. Wright State would then go scoreless for the next 11 minutes, allowing Green Bay to go on an 18-0 run of their own. The Phoenix would take the lead with 4:39 left in the first and never look back.
The two teams would exchange baskets for the final five minutes of the first half, and the Raiders would enter the locker room at halftime trailing 15-33.
Wright State found some offensive rhythm in the second half, scoring 15 points in the third quarter and 22 in the fourth to outscore Green Bay 37-33 in the final 20 minutes.
Jenna Guyer led the Phoenix with a 20-point and 10-rebound double-double, her second against the Raiders this season. Joining Guyer in double figures is Meghan Schultz with 12 points and Maddy Skorupski with a 10-point and 11-rebound double-double of her own.
In the box score, Wright State trailed Green Bay in rebounds (43-44), points in the paint (16-26), fast break points (5-6), and second-chance points (4-14). Meanwhile, the Raiders led the Phoenix in bench points (21-17).
