DAYTON, OH -- More than 38,000 military and civilian employees call Wright-Patterson Air Force Base home, making it the state's largest single-site employer. Wright State University Athletics'Â wants to recognize these service members and their families by honoring them on their home court.Â
Wright State University (WSU) and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) are both strong representatives in the Dayton community. Through shared faculty, scholarship programs and the commitment to building a military-friendly community, the two continue to build their relationship to strengthen the Dayton community.Â
A-Abel Family of Companies Veteran Recognition Program, helps bring this vision to life by honoring military members on the Raiders home court. At every Wright State Raiders Men's Basketball home game this season, one nominated veteran or active-duty service member will be selected and honored on the Nutter Center court. This program will run until the end of the season at every home game.Â

Wright State's engineering, computer science and aerospace programs have connections to WPAFB's research and development work. The two also contribute with WSU graduates who work at the base and WPAFB professionals who pursue advanced degrees at the university. The two institutions continue to work together to further the education, and research in the Dayton community.
