Bowlers tally pair of Friday wins

LOCKPORT, IL – The Wright State bowling team tallied a pair of wins on the opening day of the Flyer Classic on Friday, going 2-3 in the first day of action to sit in 17th in the 26-team field.

Saturday morning gets underway with traditional team matches beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. Action closes on Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. ET with best-of-seven baker matches in bracket play.

The Raiders finished with a 4,574 total pinfall on Friday with a 183.0 average game score. They opened action with back-to-back losses to Sacred Heart (931-864) and to Oklahoma Christian (994-982) before bouncing back with a win over Quincy (933-845). Wright State then tallied a victory over Western Illinois (939-901) before ending the opening day with a loss against Youngstown State (943-856).

Wright State is set to face Saint Anselm, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Elmhurst, Belmont Abbey and Vanderbilt during Saturday's traditional team matches.
