Bowlers notch three Saturday wins

LOCKPORT, IL – The Wright State bowling team racked up three wins on day two of the Flyer Classic on Saturday, going 3-2 to sit in 16th in the 26-team field.

Wright State now has a two-day pinfall total of 9,268 entering Sunday action. Competition gets underway starting at 9:30 a.m. ET with best-of-seven baker matches in bracket play. Wright State will kick off bracket play with a matchup against Lewis.

The Raiders went 3-2 in Saturday's traditional matches, opening the day with a loss to Saint Anselm College (872-843) before bouncing back with a close win over Wisconsin-Whitewater (935-926). Wright State tallied two more wins, over Elmhurst (964-834) and Belmont Abbey (1,046-1,007) before ending the afternoon with a loss to Vanderbilt (1,122-906).

Wright State finished day two action with a 4,694 pinfall and on the way to their two-day pinfall total of 9,268 with a 185.4 average game score. Mia Sayles led the Raiders in 14th individually with a total pinfall of 1,059 and a 211.8 average, followed by Allie Shattuck in 40th with her 982 total pinfall and 196.4 average.
