DAYTON- Wright State head women's basketball coach Kari Hoffman has announced the additions of Claire Henson, Josh Mason, and Danielle Spiliotis to her coaching staff to join her on the Raider sidelines.
Mason and Spiliotis join Hoffman's staff with a wealth of outside experience. Henson remains at Wright State after playing three seasons in Green and Gold. The trio joins Lauryn Fox on the bench with Hoffman.
"I'm really excited to add these three to our program," said Hoffman. "They bring a variety of experience and expertise to our staff, and we will complement each other well. I am beyond confident our staff will develop, prepare, and challenge our team to be their best this season."
Mason joins the Raiders program after spending the previous four seasons as the head coach of Division II Tiffin. Before being the head coach at Tiffin, Mason served as an assistant coach in the 2020-21 season when the Dragons won the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament and the first NCAA Division II Tournament berth in program history, ultimately reaching the Sweet 16. Mason also brings high school head coaching experience, serving as the head man at North Canton Hoover and Cedarville High School. Mason's passion for coaching basketball began during his time at the University of Cincinnati, when he was a practice player for the women's basketball program during the 2012-2013 season. He also graduated from Cincinnati with a degree in Middle Childhood Education.
Spiliotis joins Wright State after stints at Boston, Central Connecticut State, and Dartmouth Universities. She spent two seasons at Central Connecticut State in a similar role. In that time, she helped the Blue Devils post 20 wins after collecting 21 in the previous four seasons. She helped develop two All-NEC First Team selections, including CCSU's first-ever NEC Player of the Year, Belle Lanpher, in 2024-25. Spiliotis was a four-year letterwinner at Cedarville University when Coach Hoffman served as an assistant coach. Helping the Yellow Jackets post 89 wins in her tenure, she finished her career with 84 blocked shots, ranking sixth in program history. She became the second student-athlete in program history to play professional basketball. A 2014 graduate from Cedarville with a degree in worship arts & music, Spiliotis also obtained two master's degrees from Liberty University in mental health & wellness in 2018 and clinical mental health counseling in 2023.
Henson joins Hoffman's staff after playing 106 games in her collegiate career, including 80 for the Raiders across three seasons after transferring in from Long Island University, scoring 744 points (684 at Wright State). Henson saw her scoring output increase every year, culminating in 10.2 points per game in 2025-26, scoring double-digit points on 16 occasions. She led the Raiders in rebounding last season, hauling in 196 rebounds, while recording a team-high three double-doubles, including a 17-point and career-high 15-rebound outing at Ohio. Henson graduated from Wright State in December with her degree in management.
