Duarte Named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON - Wright State freshman forward Cairo Duarte has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Duarte had a phenomenal week offensively for the Raiders, helping propel Wright State to a 2-0 start in conference play.
The freshman started and played 72 minutes in the conference opener at Milwaukee Wednesday night, scoring the first goal of his collegiate career in the 28th minute to give the Raiders a two-goal advantage. Duarte started again in Saturday's win over Green Bay, playing 64 minutes and once again finding the scoresheet. He scored the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal in the 70th minute.
This marks the first career weekly honor for Duarte during his freshman season.
Duarte and the Raiders will remain in conference play, traveling to Indiana on Saturday, September 19, to take on Purdue Fort Wayne. First touch is slated for 7 p.m.
