2010: Ranked fifth in the Horizon League in wins, seventh in innings pitched, 10th in strikeouts and 11th in ERA...picked up save over Evansville with two innings of scoreless relief...earned win in relief against Rutgers...struck out five in seven innings versus Troy...struck out four in win over Mississippi Valley State...earned win in first game against Ohio and in relief in second game with Detroit...allowed one run in six innings with four strikeouts in win over Dayton...earned wins in final two games of series at Youngstown State and opener with Green Bay...won twice in Valparaiso series, giving up just one earned run in 9.1 innings...recipient of the Pitching Award at the Horizon League Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team after going 2-0 with a save, giving up only one run in 12.1 innings with one walk and eight strikeouts...threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief for save versus Butler...fanning six in complete-game shutout over Valparaiso...allowed one run in relief win against Cleveland State.

2009: Appeared in 14 games before missing the rest of the season with a hip injury...allowed no earned runs with two strikeouts at UNLV...struck out five in start against Florida Atlantic...picked up the save in series opener with Cleveland State, allowing no hits and runs in 1.2 innings.

Lake Land College (IL): Competed there for two seasons...went 14-6 with a 1.44 ERA, 84 strikeouts and 16 walks in 118 innings for the Lakers in 2007.

High School: First Team Division II All-State selection in 2006 in leading Celina to a 21-2 mark...posted a 13-2 record and a 0.29 ERA in 16 games for the Bulldogs with 163 strkeouts as she was named the Western Buckeye League Player of the Year...three-time All-WBL and all-district honoree...school record holder in strikeouts with 460.

Personal: Born Melanie Jo Heyne on January 17, 1988...is the daughter of Joe and Carol Heyne and has one brother and one sister.
