2009: Appeared in 14 games before missing the rest of the season with a hip injury...allowed no earned runs with two strikeouts at UNLV...struck out five in start against Florida Atlantic...picked up the save in series opener with Cleveland State, allowing no hits and runs in 1.2 innings.
Lake Land College (IL): Competed there for two seasons...went 14-6 with a 1.44 ERA, 84 strikeouts and 16 walks in 118 innings for the Lakers in 2007.
High School: First Team Division II All-State selection in 2006 in leading Celina to a 21-2 mark...posted a 13-2 record and a 0.29 ERA in 16 games for the Bulldogs with 163 strkeouts as she was named the Western Buckeye League Player of the Year...three-time All-WBL and all-district honoree...school record holder in strikeouts with 460.
Personal: Born Melanie Jo Heyne on January 17, 1988...is the daughter of Joe and Carol Heyne and has one brother and one sister.
