Joshua Snyder is in his third season as an assistant coach for the Wright State women's basketball team after serving as the program's Director of Basketball Operations during the 2006-07 season.
Snyder came to WSU from Olivet Nazarene University, where he was an assistant coach on the men's basketball team the past two years. During the 2005-06 season, the Tigers went 23-11 and won the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title. ONU also appeared in the NAIA Division I Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight by knocking off the top-ranked team in the country in Mountain State.
Prior to Olivet Nazarene, Snyder was an assistant coach for four years with Athletes in Action on its USA tour. He also served as a co-head coach of AIA's Southeast Asia tour in 1999.
A standout at Cincinnati Christian University, Snyder was a NCCAA Division II Second Team All-American for the Eagles in 1994-95. A team captain as a junior and senior, he finished his career seventh on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,459 points and fourth in rebounds with 534. He hit 578 career field goals, with 111 coming from three-point range.
After ending his playing career, Snyder served as the head coach of the women's basketball team at Cincinnati Christian from 1995-97.
Along with his playing experience, Snyder has served in various roles at different camps. He was a summer basketball camp coach at Cincinnati Christian and at Southern Illinois University. His experience with Athletes in Action also allowed him to be a summer basketball camp director for five years.
A native of Hillsboro, Ohio, Snyder earned a bachelor's degree in Christian education from Cincinnati Christian in 1996 and a master's degree in education from Oliver Nazarene in 2006. He and his wife, Tiffany, live in Xenia with their two-year old daughter, Morgan.
