The Beavercreek, Ohio, native was an All-Conference performer while in high school and took her talents to Buffalo where she was a standout libero for the Bulls. Garcia not only has a local connection after coaching and playing with the Dayton Juniors Club Volleyball program, but was a member of the LVSF Professional Volleyball League in Puerto Rico.
Garcia was the team captain and starting libero for Vaqueras de Bayamon during the 2007-2008 season after finishing a four-year playing career at Buffalo. While a member of the Bulls volleyball program, Garcia was a mainstay on the floor as a four year starter as their libero and finished her career as the all-time digs leader.
While with the Bulls, Garcia was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2006 and 2007, along with being selected as the team's top newcomer during her rookie year on campus. The four-year starter ended her career as the school's all-time leader in digs and the single season digs record holder. During her senior season she led the squad in digs and tied for second in service aces. She was twice named the athletic departments Athlete of the Week and ranks seventh on the Mid-American Conference's digs list.
Along with her experience on the college and professional courts, Garcia has a wealth of volleyball knowledge. She has run camps and clinics for the Buffalo City School Districts and ran camps during her time on campus at Buffalo. In 2006, Garcia worked with the Dayton Juniors Volleyball Club as an assistant coach, along with serving as the volunteer head coach for Barnabus High School in New York.
Garcia graduated with her B.A. in Communication from SUNY-Buffalo in 2008 and is also bilingual (Spanish).
