
Volleyball Falls at Milwaukee

The Wright State volleyball team won the first game, but Milwaukee was in control the rest of the way as the Panthers defeated the Raiders in Horizon League action Friday night at the Klotsche Center, winning 22-30, 30-19, 30-24, 30-18.
WSU trailed 7-6 early, but went on a 12-2 run, half coming on three kills from Jenny Schultz and a kill and two blocks by Lizzy Gunn, to go up 18-9. The Panthers came as close as 22-18 before the Raiders expanded the margin again on kills from Tara Geegan and Lindsey Frank.
After Milwaukee (12-5, 5-1 Horizon) even the match by pulling away late in game two, the Panthers scored eight straight points to erase a 20-19 deficit in game three and then jumped out to a 7-1 advantage in the fourth game.
UWM outhit the Raiders .259-.132 and finished with a 74-44 kill advantage.
Gunn paced Wright State with nine kills and five blocks as she hit .333 on the night while Geegan added eight kills and Schultz seven. Along with her 35 assists, Frank hit. 429 with seven kills and seven digs.
WSU, now 10-11 overall and 4-2 in the Horizon League, closes out the first half of the League schedule Saturday afternoon at 5:00 Eastern at Green Bay.
