
Men's Soccer Drops League Finale at Butler, 3-1

The Wright State men's soccer team dropped their first match in its last five outings at Butler on Thursday afternoon. The Green and Gold tallied their only goal in the 63rd minute on an own goal by the Bulldogs to pull the score to 3-1.
The Bulldogs tallied three goals in the first half of play as Frank Patano netted all three goals before the break.
Tebias Mason got the start in net for the Raiders and played 45:00, while allowing three goals and making three saves.
In the second half, Wright State scored on an own goal by the Bulldogs and freshman keeper Matt Koewler played the final 45:00 and held BU scoreless.
In the match, Butler outshot the Raiders 17-11 and took four corner kicks to WSU's two. WSU did, however, force Butler keeper Fabian Knopfler to make six saves in the match.
The Raiders will close out the regular season with a home match against IUPUI on Monday, November 5, starting at 7:00. The Raiders also locked up the sixth seed in the upcoming Horizon League tournament and will host an opening round match on November 9 against an opponent to be announced later.
