The Wright State baseball team dropped their third straight game to Tulane on Sunday at Zephyr Field. The Raiders took an early lead, but single runs in four separate innings doomed the Green and Gold in the 4-1 loss.

The Green and Gold jumped out to an early 1-0 lead against Tulane starter Shooter Hunt. Dan Biedenharn were each hit by a pitch and stole a base to put runners on second and third with one out. Oeder then dashed home after a passed ball to score the games first run.

Tulane (9-4) answered with single runs in their half of the first and third innings to take a 2-1 lead. Cat Everett and Warren McFadden each drove in an RBI for the Green Wave to give them the early lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, WSU starter Kyle Kearcher walked the first two batters of the inning and McFadden struck with a one-out sacrifice fly to center field. Brad Emaus then sent a ball sailing towards the right-center field gap, but John Kopilchack made a diving catch to keep the Tulane lead at 3-1.

A fifth inning Nate Simon home run capped the scoring for Tulane.

Kearcher (1-1) threw six innings in the contest and allowed four runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out one in the loss. Jason Bennion and Nate Stevens combined to throw the final two innings scoreless for the Raiders.

Oeder extended his hitting streak to six games with a fifth inning single and Justin Parker went two-for-four, collecting the only extra base hit for WSU in the contest. Four other Raiders collected hits in the game and WSU drew two walks in the contest.

The next action for the Raiders, now 2-4 on the season, will be their home opener against Wilmington College. The Raiders and the Quakers will square off on Tuesday, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Nischwitz Stadium.
