The Wright State men's soccer team dropped their home opener to Bowling Green on Sunday, falling 2-0 at Alumni Field. The Falcons scored an early goal and added a penalty kick in the 30th minute to down the Green and Gold.
The Falcons scored an early goal on a Cameron Hepple marker at the 6:36 mark when he stole the ball and dribbled in to net the tally past a diving Tebias Mason. BGSU then added another tally in the 30th minute on a penalty kick off the foot of Abiola Sandy after a WSU handball in the box.
The Raiders were outshot in the contest (16-11) and BGSU took 11 shots on-goal to only two for Wright State. Tony Labudovski and Adam Harp each recorded shots on-goal. Junior Milovan Milosevic was the only Raider to attempt more than one shot, with two in the contest.
Mason, the WSU keeper, posted six saves in the match and now has five matches with 6+ saves this season. The senior added to his league leading total in saves and now has 48 on the season.
The Raiders will take to the pitch against crosstown rival Dayton on Friday, September 28, at Alumni Field. The Green and Gold will entertain the Flyers under the lights on the WSU campus, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00.
