
Men's Soccer Takes 1-0 Decision at IUPUI

The Wright State men's soccer team struck in the seventh minute of the match and sophomore goalkeeper Matt Koewler made three saves to post a 1-0 victory at IUPUI on Tuesday evening.
At the 6:29 mark of the first half, sophomore Aaron Denney connected on the Raiders first shot of the match. It was the second goal of the season for Denney and the assist on the goal went to Joe Flach.
The two teams would account for 28 shots in the match and Koewler would post the three saves for his second shutout of the season. WSU would hold the 17-11 edge in shots and make a pair of IUPUI keepers to record nine saves in the match.
Senior Josh Grossman paced the Raiders attack with four shots, while three other players notched three shots apiece. Overall in the match eight different players took shots and seven of those players recorded shots on-goal.
The Green and Gold improve to 4-12-1 overall and will close out their regular season with a pair of matches in Wisconsin. The Raiders will play at Milwaukee on October 31 at 8:00 and wrap up their regular season with a 2:00 match at Green Bay on November 2.
