
Women's Tennis Rallies to Defeat Dayton, 4-3

DAYTON, Ohio - The Wright State women's tennis team picked up their second win of the season on Wednesday evening at Dayton Center Courts, defeating crosstown rival Dayton by a score of 4-3.
The Green and Gold won the opening doubles point as Christa Ames teamed with Karina Presti and Jessica Lee posted a 9-8(3) victory at the #2 doubles spot to secure the opening point in the match.
Webb opened the singles round with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Chelsea Glankler at the #4 position to give WSU a 2-0 lead. UD would post the next two singles victories at the #5 and #6 spots in the rotation to knot the match at two apiece.
Presti then posted her fourth victory of the season in the #3 singles match, winning 6-4, 6-4 over Megan Gray. Lee would retire in her #1 singles match with Allysa Detroy and the match would enter the final singles competition knotted at 3-3.
Ames and Laina Grote would split the first two sets, with Ames taking the opening set 6-1. After Grote won the second set, 6-4, Ames responded by fighting off numerous game points to win the finale set, 6-4, and give WSU the victory.
The Raiders improve to 2-13 overall this season and will next be in action on Saturday, April 12 at Valparaiso. The Raiders and Crusaders will take to the courts 10:00 a.m.
