The Wright State volleyball team was outhit .201-.122 by Xavier as the Musketeers won in three sets Tuesday night in nonleague action at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium, defeating the Raiders 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.
WSU started the match by scoring the first five points, including two Tina Paunicka kills, but Xavier followed with five straight of its own to tie the score. Set one was tied five more times until the Musketeers broke a 20-20 deadlock on a Lauren Kaminsky kill and a Raider attack error.
An 11-4 run midway through the second set put Xavier in control and despite Wright State tallying seven consecutive points to tie the third set at 19, the Musketeers won the final set by outscoring the Raiders 5-2 down the stretch, two on kills from Shannon Voors.

Xavier (13-9) was paced by Kelly Ruth's 11 kills and .385 hitting percentage while Stephanie Vorherr had 16 digs.
Wright State (10-13) returns to Horizon League play Friday as the Raiders host Butler in a 7:00 match.
