On the men's side, the Raiders won the first four events, placing two swimmers in the top three in each, before seeing Tampa win both the 200 yard butterfly and 50 yard freestyle. The Green & Gold would respond by winning the final eight events. Hermanus Botha led the way for the men with three first place finishes as well as helping post a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Scott Bey and Pawel Grzebala both posted a pair of individual victories on the day.
The women's squad also opened the meet with a hot start, winning the first five events before falling to Tampa in the 50 yard freestyle. The Raiders answered, placing first in the final eight events. They also posted two top three finishers in eleven out of the possible fourteen events. Molley Pipkorn led the way with three individual first place finishes while aiding the 200 yard freestyle relay to another first place finish. Krystyna Wieczerzak had an impressive day as well with three individual first place finishes of her own.
WSU took two of the top three spots in 22 of the 28 events on the day, including the top two in nine events.
