It was a case of extremes for the Wright State softball team Friday at the Eller Media Stadium Tournament in Las Vegas as after the Raiders dropped their opening game of the tournament to host UNLV 9-0, WSU bounced back to defeat Loyola Marymount 8-7 in 11 innings.

In the opener, Rebel pitcher Stephanie Bregante limited Wright State to just four singles. UNLV scored two unearned runs in the first and then added six more in the second.

WSU, though, took a 1-0 lead in the first inning against Loyola Marymount as Louie Haney walked, advanced to second on a Kristen Bradshaw walk, went to third on a fielder's choice off the bat of Katie Kine and scored on a throwing error.

The Lions, though, tied it with a run in the seventh and took a one-run lead in both the eighth and ninth innings, only to see the Raiders answer with a run of their own each time. Bradshaw had a sacrifice fly in the eighth and scored in the ninth on a throwing error.

LMU looked to be in control by scoring three times in the 10th, including a two-run home run by Megan Ackerman, but again Wright State would rally to tie the game on RBI singles by Jamie Perkins, Kine and Shilt.

Loyola Marymount tacked on a run in the 11th before the Raiders ended the marathon with two in the bottom of the frame. Lindsay Barrett singled in Berry and the winning run came in on a Perkins sacrifice fly to right.

Ashleigh Jackson (2-2) pitched all 11 innings to pick up the victory, scattering 11 hits in allowing three earned runs and two walks while striking out three. Shilt and Barrett led the WSU offense with two hits each while Haney and Frost both scored twice.

Wright State (4-6) will play two more games in Vegas Saturday as the Raiders take on Florida Atlantic at 1:00 Eastern followed by Drake at 3:00.
