
Volleyball Opens Season 2-0 with 3-1 Win Over Temple

The Wright State volleyball team defeated Temple 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19 for its second straight win to start the season in the VCU/Third Degree Sportswear Invitational.
Four Raiders collected double figures in kills as junior Jessica Woods and Chanel Gillies each registered 10. Setter Tina Paunicka gathered 45 assists. Five Raiders ended the match with at least 12 digs, led by Stefanie Shiramizu's 19. As a team, WSU hit .213 overall while Temple's hitting percentage was .135.
WSU is now 2-0 on the young season and will play host VCU Saturday at 12:30 pm to finish their stay. The last time WSU started 2-0 was in 2003 with their most recent 3-0 start coming in 2001.
