
Volleyball Drops Five-Set Decision at West Virginia

The Wright State volleyball team forced a fifth set, taking host West Virginia to the brink before losing 25-20, 18-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-13 Friday night at the WVU Invitational.
Senior Lexi Leonhard led the Raiders with 12 kills and 20 digs while junior Jessica Woods ended with 10 kills and three blocks. Junior Shaunda Sandifer had eight kills on the evening with 11 digs and seven total blocks. Senior Michelle Hammonds finished with 41 assists.
WSU hit .102 for the match, including .263 in the second set. Wright State is now 7-4 overall as WVU climbed to 8-3 overall. The invitational continues Saturday as the Raiders take on Duquesne at 11:30 am and George Mason at 5 pm.
