
Volleyball Sweeps Duquesne at WVU Invitational

The Wright State volleyball team outhit Duquesne .272-.211 as the Raiders snapped a three-match losing streak with a three-set sweep over the Dukes Saturday at the WVU Invitational in Morgantown, West Virginia, winning 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.
WSU came out on fire, outhitting Duquesne (7-5) .310-.211 in the opening set and then broke away from a 19-19 tie in the second set thanks in part to three kills from Becca Awaa. The third set featured 11 ties and five lead changes before the Raiders scored the final two points on kills by Lexi Leonhard and Awaa.
Awaa hit an impressive .457 for the match as she recorded 17 kills and just one error in 35 attempts while Michelle Hammond tallied 48 assists while Jessica Woods and Stefanie Shiramizu chipped in 15 and 14 digs, respectively.
Wright State, now 8-4 on the season, wraps up play at the WVU Invitational Saturday afternoon at 5:00 against George Mason.
