It was a tough day for the Wright State softball offense Friday in the opening day of the Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas, as the Raiders dropped a 1-0 decision to North Dakota State and 5-0 to host Texas A&M.
WSU and North Dakota State hooked up in a scoreless battle until the Bison scored a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Melanie Heyne (2-5) was the tough-luck loser as she allowed just four hits and no walks while striking out four. Briauna Birl led the Raider offense with two hits.
Against Texas A&M, the Raiders trailed just 1-0 until the Aggie scored four times in the bottom of the fifth.
