
Volleyball Drops Three-Set Decision to Milwaukee

The volleyball team dropped a three-set Horizon League decision to league-leading Milwaukee Friday night at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium. The Panthers won the match 25-17, 25-8, 25-14.
The first set featured four lead changes and six ties, including at 13-all following an Alaina McAuley kill. Milwaukee, however, went in front to stay by scoring the next six points, half coming on two kills and a block by Rachel Neuberger.
The Panthers then jumped in front 5-0 in the second set and led the entire way as they had 12 kills in the set and hit .423.
WSU led 9-6 in the third set until UWM went on a 7-1 run to go up 13-10. Kills by McAuley and Anna Norman kept the Raiders close at 14-12 before the Panthers closed out the match with an 11-2 run.
Milwaukee (18-4, 11-0 Horizon) outhit Wright State .407-.032 for the match.
Ashley Langjahr paced the Raiders with nine kills while McAuley added six.
Wright State (3-21, 2-9 Horizon) hosts a pair of Horizon League matches next weekend, taking on UIC on Friday, October 28, at 7:00, followed by Loyola on Saturday, October 29, at 4:00. The UIC match will take place in the McLin Gymnasium, while the Valparaiso contest will be in the Wright State Nutter Center main arena as part of Howloween Hoopla.
