The Wright State men's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 1-0 win at IUPUI Monday night.
The lone goal of the contest came at the 70:34 mark of the second half as Brian Cothern fed Justin Laird with a pass to the middle. Laird then connected from 18 yards out as the ball went inside the right post.
Craig Feehan posted his second shutout in as many games as the freshman goalkeeper posted two saves.
"Tonight is a credit to the players, they prepared hard all week and did a great job of recovering after a game on Friday," said assistant coach David Korn. "They showed tremendous character and composure tonight and that is a credit to how hard they train and how well they get along off the field."
"This was definitely a team win," said head coach Bryan Davis. "It was one of those nights where the team that found a moment was going to come out with a win. Credit to Justin for a class finish and to Brian, our captain, with a fantastic assist. Back to work Wednesday to prepare for a tough tournament, starting with a strong Kentucky squad."
Wright State heads to Lexington, Kentucky, this weekend for the UK Invitational, taking on the host Wildcats on Friday, September 2, at 7:30, followed by Evansville on Sunday, September 4, at noon.
