
Volleyball Falls at Valparaiso

The Wright State volleyball team dropped a three-set Horizon League decision at Valparaiso Friday night, falling to the Crusaders 25-12, 25-14, 25-16.
Valparaiso jumped out to a 14-4 lead in winning the first set and broke open a 15-12 lead in the second set with five straight points and a 10-2 run overall. The Raiders led 7-4 early in the final set on an Ashley Langjahr kill and tied the score at 11 on a block from Anna Norman and Ashleigh Lucco, only to see the Crusaders later tally six consecutive points to take control.
The Crusaders (12-5, 3-1 Horizon) finished with a 39-23 kill advantage and outhit WSU .366-.044.
Alaina McAuley had eight kills to lead the way for the Raiders while Heidi Splinter had seven kills and three service aces.
Wright State (2-14, 1-3 Horizon) heads to the Windy City Saturday to take on UIC at 5:00 Eastern.
