Box Score The Wright State men's basketball team could not overcome a 17-for-31 three-point performance by VMI as the Keydets went on to a 94-74 win Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall.
The Raiders led 13-9 on a Miles Dixon layup with 13:50 remaining in the first half, only to see VMI answer with five straight to retake the lead. The game was then tied three times until the Keydets closed the half with a 22-11 run over the final 8:17 to go up 47-36 at the break.
VMI shot 47 percent in the opening 20 minutes, including nine of 16 from three-point range, while WSU shot 48 percent, but was just one of six from behind the arc.
Wright State would get no closer than seven the rest of the way as the Keydets built on the advantage throughout the second half.
The Raiders shot 46 percent for the game overall and were three of 12 from three while VMI shot 51 percent for the contest and connected on 17 of 31 three-point attempts, including eight of 15 in the second half.
AJ Pacher led the way for WSU with 14 points while Dixon had 13 off the bench and Matt Vest added 12 along with six rebounds.
All five starters scored in double figures for VMI (5-4), paced by QJ Peterson with 21.
Wright State (5-6) is back on the road on Sunday, December 15, for a 2:00 contest against the Miami RedHawks at Millett Hall.
