Kylie Kopp set a school record in the heptathlon as members of the Wright State track team competed in the opening day of the Winthrop Invitational Friday in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Kopp broke her own record by finishing second with a total of 4526 points in the heptathlon, eclipsing the 4443 points she recorded at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati on April 1, 2011. She won the 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash in the competition, was second in the high jump and third in the 800 meter run. Along with her performance in the heptathlon, Kopp also finished fourth in the long jump.
Savanna Termuhlen qualified for the finals in the 100 and 200 meter dash by finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, in the preliminaries.
Wright State will compete in two meets Saturday as along with the Winthrop Invitational, the Raiders will also compete at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open in Cedarville.
