The Wright State men's basketball team found the offense hard to come by Tuesday night as Milwaukee used a 27-5 run to take control and went on to a 67-41 Horizon League decision at UWM Panther Arena.
Joe Thomasson gave the Raiders a 6-4 lead with a jumper at the 14:58 mark of the first half, but it was all Panthers from there as they tallied 27 of the game's next 32 points and eventually took a 34-15 advantage into halftime.
Milwaukee shot 43 percent in the first half compared to 23 percent for WSU.
The offensive struggled continues for Wright State in the second half as the Raiders shot 32 percent to finish at 28 percent for the night. The Panthers, meanwhile, hit 11 of 20 shots after halftime to end the game at 48 percent and also made all eight foul shot attempts to go 12 of 13 for the contest. UWM led 47-19 in rebounds and 32-12 in points in the paint.
Michael Karena led WSU with 11 points, but no other Raider managed more than six.
Justin Jordan paced Milwaukee (7-12, 2-3 Horizon) with 17 points while Matt Tiby had 12, Steve McWhorter 10 and Akeem Springs nine along with 13 rebounds.
Wright State (10-10, 2-4 Horizon) is off until heading to Michigan for a pair of games next week, taking on Detroit on Monday, January 26, and Oakland on Wednesday, January 28, with both contests set to tip-off at 7:00.
