Wenzler Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Junior Ryan Wenzler of the golf team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month for September, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Wenzler (Centerville, OH/Centerville) earned medalist honors at the NKU Collegiate Classic on Tuesday as he led the 69-player field with a three-round score of 203, including a second round of 64 that tied a course record. The Raiders finished third as a team, their highest finish of the season so far.
At the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational September 14-15, Wenzler tied for 13th with a 2-0 in his first tournament of the year, including a 68 in the opening round. Wenzler then tied for fourth at the Murray State Invitational September 21 and 22 with a 216.
For the season, Wenzler has a 69.8 round average and has shot par or below in seven of nine rounds.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
