Softball Drops Pair in Second Day of Hillenbrand Invitational

The Wright State team softball dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Arizona, falling to Drake 2-0 and to Loyola Marymount 12-1.
In the opener, it was a scoreless game until the Bulldogs tallied single runs in the sixth and seventh. The Raiders had the bases loaded in the third and two on in the first, but could not push across a run.
Ashton Salyers and Kortney Tackett each had two hits for WSU.
In the second game, Loyola Marymount took control early, scoring a run in the first and five more in the third. The Lions then added two in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Wright State's lone run came in the fourth as senior center fielder Jess Gorman hit her first home run of the season to left.
Wright State (0-4) wraps up tournament play on Sunday morning against Loyola starting at 11:00 Eastern time.
