Softball Drops Pair at Ohio State

The Wright State softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Ohio State on Tuesday, falling to the Buckeyes 7-2 in the opener and 10-2 in the nightcap.
In the opener, OSU scored all seven of its runs in the second and third innings. The Raiders tallied a run in the fifth as Ashley Sharp scored on a Libby Pfeffer ground out and added another in the seventh as Jess Gorman hit a solo home run to center, her fourth of the season.
Ohio State took a 4-0 lead in the second game with all four of the runs coming in the first before WSU scored a run in the third. Macey Gunter was hit by a pitch and after moving up to second on a wild pitch, came in to score as Reagan Stofcheck singled up the middle.
The Buckeyes added five runs in the fourth and one in the fifth while the final Raider run was in the fifth as Becka Peterson clubbed her second home run of the year to center.
Wright State (6-20) returns to Horizon League play this weekend as the Raiders travel to Valparaiso for a three-game series, starting with a single game on Friday at 4:00 Eastern.
