The Wright State softball team split a pair of games in the final day of the CSU Tournament Saturday in Charleston, South Carolina, defeating Iona 6-2 before falling to Jacksonville State 7-0.

The Raiders scored a run in the second as, with two out and no one on base, Hanna Floyd was hit by a pitch, went to second on a wild pitch and scored as Angie Clark doubled to center.

Libby Pfeffer then provided the offense in the third. After Macey Gunther singled and stole second, Pfeffer smacked a two-run home run down the left field line to make it 3-0.

WSU extended the margin to 6-0 in the fifth as following a Jess Gorman double to plate pinch-runner Rachael Oakley, Pfeffer struck with her second home run of the game and fourth of the season, a two-run blast to center.

Iona had a two-run home run of its own in the seventh, but would get no closer as Raider pitcher Montana Wear had the complete-game win, striking out six in the process.

In the second game, Jacksonville State took a quick 4-0 lead with two runs in both the first and third innings and added three in the fifth to round out the scoring.

Reagan Stofcheck led the WSU offense in the second game with two hits.

Wright State (1-14) heads to Bloomington, Indiana, next weekend for the Hoosier Classic, taking on IPFW (10:00) and host Indiana (12:15) on Saturday, March 14, and North Dakota State (12:15) and Bowling Green (2:30) on Sunday, March 15.
