
Vogelpohl Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Freshman guard Emily Vogelpohl of the women's basketball team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month for December, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Vogelpohl (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) was selected as the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on December 14 and January 4 as she averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game over six contests while shooting 48 percent from the field and 73 percent at the foul line.
Vogelpohl opened the month by scoring 14 points against Butler on December 4, 14 points with five rebounds and four assists versus Cincinnati Christian on December 8 and then had 20 points and five rebounds at Eastern Kentucky on December 13. She had 10 points, eight assists, six steals in the final nonleague game of the season versus Georgia on December 20 and rounded out the month with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists against UIC in the Horizon League opener on December 30.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
