Fernandes Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Senior defender Kaique Fernandes of the men's soccer team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Fernandes (West Babylon, NY/North Babylon) scored three goals in six matches during the month as the Raiders won their first-ever league regular-season title. After scoring the lone WSU goal in a 1-1 tie at Virginia Tech on October 11, he tallied the game-winning goal in a 2-0 decision over Cleveland State on October 22. Fernandes then scored Wright State's first goal in a 2-1 overtime win over Milwaukee on October 29 that clinched the regular-season title.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
