
Demmings Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Senior guard Kim Demmings of the women's basketball team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month for January, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Demmings (Richmond, IN/Richmonod) was selected as the Horizon League Player of the Week on January 18 as she averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game over eight contests while shooting 41 percent from the field.
Demmings scored 22 points and added eight rebounds against Northern Kentucky on January 9 and then had 25 points with six rebounds at Detroit on January 14. She became WSU's all-time scoring leader (men's and women's) with 17 at Oakland on January 16 and became the Horizon League women's all-time scoring leader with 25 versus Milwaukee on January 21
Demmings rounded out the month with 21 points and nine rebounds against Green Bay on January 23, 22 points and nine rebounds at Youngstown State on January 28 and 18 points at Cleveland State on January 30.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
