Scholtens Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Senior pitcher Jesse Scholtens of the baseball team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month for March, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Scholtens (Fairfield, CA/Rodriguez) went 2-0 for the month with a 2.89 earned run average and 23 strikeouts in 28 innings. He pitched the first perfect game in school history at Dayton on March 11, retiring all 27 batters he faced with 12 strikeouts.
Following his perfect game performance, Scholtens was selected as the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on March 14 along with National Pitcher of the Week by College Sports Madness and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
