88 Wright State Student-Athletes celebrated the annual National Student-Athlete Day on April 6 with a variety of events to increase awareness and wellness.
The day was created to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes who excel in the classroom, on the playing fields and who give back to their community through service projects. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Director of Student-Athlete Welfare Kaley Moss planned a Student-Welfare Day for National STUDENT-Athlete Day. From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Moss planned an event in the Athletics Department lobby to promote the basic physical and emotional well-being of all student-athletes with free professional chair massages and a healthy refreshment station (Smoothie Shots, Watermelon Aqua Fresca, and Fruit Infused Water).
Student-athletes that have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA and have taken part in community service also received a personal certificate of recognition from both The National Consortium for Academics and Sports and the NCAA.
The student-athletes spanned every sport that took time for your own well-being and stopped by the Athletics Department and enjoyed the event. The athletics staff enjoyed celebrating the student-athletes on National STUDENT-Athlete Day.
