Welch Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Junior guard Chelsea Welch of the women's basketball team has been selected as the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Athlete of the Month, it was announced at their monthly meeting Thursday.
Welch (Kettering, OH/Fairmont) averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 82 percent at the foul line. She had 21 points, six rebounds against Kent State, 25 points, four steals at Green Bay, 19 points, seven rebounds against Youngstown State and 16 points, six assists versus Cleveland State.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
